The everyday adventures of Caitlyn is one that makes me ponder and wait for the moment I have to take her to the emergency room and start pricing how much it would cost me to enroll her into a gymnastics or swim class. As I've said before, she loves the water, but she also has a passion for jumping off of things, onto the couch or using her bed (or mine if she can sneak in) as a trampoline. Endless energy. I think in a competition again the energizer bunny, he would give up even if he had an IV of caffeine going straight into his blood stream. I can say it'll make for many fun years ahead, even if Mommy ends up balding and gray. As I watch the Olympics like crazy (and can barely keep my eyes open during the day) I start getting those crazy ideas that maybe, if I can channel Caitlyn's energy, I might have an athlete on my hands. If not, at least some outlet to get rid of some of this. Maybe I can convince Daddy to buy a house with a lot of land and just put a tracking device on her and call her in for meals. LOL. I am sleep deprived here.
Along with this energy is a longing to do things she's not supposed to do. One of her passions is dumping her toys all over her room. As a kid I watched Ducktales, which had Donald Duck's nephews who lived with their Uncle Scrooge. Scrooge had a vault full of money that he liked to swim in. Although Caitlyn has never seen this, she imitates it by "swimming" in her toys that she has spread all over her room, looking like she is making a snow angel in a pile of play dishes and blocks. Being the neat freak that I am, I panic, and Caitlyn luckily will pick up her toys and put them away. After being asked a few times of course. I must admit, it is a pretty fun sight, even if it is another accident waiting to happen (at least for me. Those toys will end up breaking my ankle one of these days) :)
