How Could I?

Caitlyn will tell us if her diaper is wet or dirty. Not unusual. But the other day we put her in her room for nap time. She cried as usual and I heard her scream "down, down." We ignored it being the great parents we are and figured she was just trying to get our attention. I went in to check on her, just to find out that she had a dirty diaper and wanted us to change her. When we didn't come in, she needed help getting down from her changing table, and since we didn't come, she took her nap right there. Once again, Mother of the year is not going to be one of my nominations! :)

That is to funny. I know how you feel though. There have been times that I ignored Michael's crying, figuring he was just mad and wanted attention, only after 10 minutes or so going in and seeing that his poor little leg was stuck up to the groin through a slat in his crib. It was all red and everything. I felt like a terible mother each time.
More recently, he has been falling out of bed(although he takes it pretty well in stride). He just got a toddler bed for Christmas. The switch went well, with no transition whatsoever. We just put him right in it, but he is still working to figure out that he can not roll all over. Oddly, once he fell over the foot board, which is not even the spot that has the opening. Oh well.

We all have those moments though. I think that the good things we do earn us merits so that when we do make a mistake, it is covered :)

That is so funny!!! I had a neighbor once who had the flu. She was laying up on the couch half asleep letting her 1 year old play. IT got quite and she waited a minute and then went to look for him. Too late...he was out the door in January in a diaper only. A lady had stopped her car, picked up the baby and was trying to figure out whose house he belonged to. Mommy was frantically searching her house. I happend to witness the baby through my window and was able to tell the lady where he lived. She took him home. Anyway, point is, things happen even to the best of parents. All we can do is our best! And you do a wonderful job!
